Day 1 | Thursday, May 1: Depart for Marseille
Day 2 | Friday, May 2: Arrive in Marseille

• Tour the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde.
• Transfer to La Ciotat for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 | Saturday, May 3: La Ciotat - Cassis - La Ciotat
• Breakfast at your hotel.
• Visit La Ciotat.
• Transfer to Cassis (8 miles).
• Discover the Calanques de Cassis, one of the most remarkable natural sites in France, just outside Marseille. The site stretches for more than 20 km along the Mediterranean coast. The word ‘calanque’ in Provençal means a valley carved out by a river and then reclaimed by the sea. At Cassis, the rugged relief of the calanques is breathtaking in its beauty. In this enchanting setting, you can enjoy a glass of white wine or take a walk along the footpath that runs through Cassis. This is a must-see stop-off to marvel at the beauty of creation!

• Today you will discover the markets and sights of Aix-en-Provence and Gordes. You will pick up flowers for the tablescapes.

Day 6 | Tuesday, May 6: Aix-en-Provence

• Today you will discover the Caumont – Centre d’Art of Aix en Provence (in option). The Hôtel de Caumont, a listed historic monument, recreates the atmosphere and aesthetics characteristic of the 18th century, and is a major cultural centre. Open to all forms of art, Caumont – Centre d’Art presents two temporary exhibitions a year, dedicated to the great names in the history of art. Lunch on your own.
• You’ll enjoy a wine tasting at Château Paradis for the Birthday Celebration. In an exceptional setting, between the Sainte Victoire mountain and the Luberon, the Château Paradis vineyards stretch over 80 hectares in the heart of Provence, at the northernmost tip of the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation, in the commune of Le Puy-SainteRéparade.

Day 7 | Wednesday, May 7: Aix-en-Provence – Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baume
• Breakfast at your hotel.
• Transfer to Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume to the basilica Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, begun in 1295 and completed in 1532 which is the most important Gothic-style religious building in Provence.
• Visit the Basilica where you will enjoy a concert (in option).
• Dinner and night in a 4-star hotel in Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume.
Day 8 | Thursday, May 8: Sanctuaire de la Sainte Baume
• Breakfast at your hotel.
• Transfer to The Sainte-Baume sanctuary.
• You’ll set off on a hike to the grotto of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine. The grotto is said to have served as a hermitage for Saint Mary Magdalene after she evangelized Provence. The walk takes around 45 minutes.

Day 9 | Friday, May 9: Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baume - Cotignac – Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baume

• Transfer to Cotignac (24 miles).
• The Sanctuary of Notre-Dame de Grâces is a major place of Marian apparition in the Var. The Holy Family chose to appear on a hill in Cotignac. The purpose of the shrine is to make the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph and the Holy Family better known and loved, to promote the human, religious and Christian values that stem from them, to recall the link between the Virgin Mary and France, to offer a warm place to live in a family and evangelical spirit, to offer a place of pilgrimage, retreat and Christian and human formation, and to remain humble in the image of Mary.

• Halfway between Marseille and Nice, discover the beautiful abbey of Le Thoronet nestling in the hills of the Provencal hinterland. Its simple architecture and light make it one of the finest examples of Cistercian architecture in France. The site is also listed as a national historic monument.

Day 11 | Sunday, May 11: Thoronet - Grasse

• Today, you’ll visit the perfume flower fields in Grasse (subject to agreement on Sunday or Monday).
• View of the Domaine de Manon, located between the sea and the mountains, has an ideal terroir for growing perfume flowers. Their harvests are reserved exclusively for Christian Dior. Transfer to Nice.

Day 13 | Tuesday, May 13: In Nice

• You’ll discover the Monaco Exotic garden, Entirely devoted to ‘succulent’ plants (formerly known as ‘succulents’), this garden is like a gigantic rockery, ideally exposed and offering a splendid panorama of the Principality and the Italian Riviera.
