Shrine of St. Vincent de Paul
The Story:
Located in Paris France, the Shrine of St. Vincent de Paul is dedicated to the life of this 17th century Priest who was a champion for both the rich and the poor teaching the importance of charity, mercy, and service. He was canonized by Pope Clement XII in 1731 and his Feast day is celebrated on September 27th.
The Shrine to St. Vincent de Paul is in the chapel of the Lazarists Mission where his body lies above the main altar. At the time of his death his body was incorrupt however after a devasting flood, the body was damage and decayed. His skeleton has been covered in Wax to provide his likeness. His heart is in the Chapel of the Daughters of Charity at the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal.
Transportation: The Shrine can be reached by the metro on Vaneau station, just a short walk from the Shrine.
