Itinerary
Day 1 | Monday, January 26: Departure from USA
Day 2 | Tuesday, January 27: Arrival in Chennai
Upon arrival, meet our staff in the Arrivals’ Hall and be transferred to your hotel. Attend Holy Mass before dinner and overnight in our hotel.
Day 3 | Wednesday, January 28: Chennai
In the morning, we will have Mass at the St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica / National Shrine of St. Thomas, which contains the tomb of St. Thomas the Apostle. After lunch, you will visit the site of St. Thomas’s martyrdom just outside the city. Nest, we will visit St. George’s fort, one of the best examples of military architecture in the city. Then, we will stop at St. Antony’s Shrine and pray in gratitude for the safe trip. After sightseeing, you’ll return to your hotel to relax before dinner and overnight.
Day 4 | Thursday, January 29: Chennai – Pondicherry – Vailankanni
After breakfast, you will attend morning Mass before proceeding on the drive to Pondicherry, the beautiful capital of Puducherry which is surrounded by the Bay of Bengal. There, you will have lunch and visit the beautiful Immaculate Conception Cathedral before continuing your drive to Vailankanni. At Vailankanni, we will head to your hotel for check in. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 5 | Friday, January 30: Vailankanni - Tiruchirappalli
After breakfast visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health and learn about the two Marian Apparitions which occurred in the area in 1570 and 1597. The Basilica has been a major pilgrimage site for centuries, and the devotions were approved by the Vatican in 2025. Later you will drive from Vailankanni to Tiruchirappalli, with lunch en route. Later we will visit the Our Lady of Lourdes Church before we check-in at our hotel. Dinner and overnight at our Hotel.
Day 6 | Saturday, January 31: Tiruchirappalli - Kanyakumari
After breakfast, we will check out from hotel and visit the famous Tiruchirappalli Rock Fort, a historic fortification and temple complex. Later drive to Kanyakumari. Group members will eat lunch en-route during drive to Kanyakumari. On arrival visit the Basilica of St. John de Britto, where you will learn about this missionary Saint often referred to as “The John the Baptist of India.” Upon arrival, you will check in at our hotel. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 7 | Sunday, February 1: Kanyakumari - Kovalam
Breakfast at hotel. Later drive to Thiruvanthapuram via Nagercoil, en-route visiting St. Xavier’s Cathedral. Later drive to Thiruvanthapuram and proceed on an orientation tour, visiting Shree Padmanabha Swamy Temple (from outside) and a visit to Chalai Market. N After sightseeing, we will drive to our hotel for check-in. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 8 | Monday, February 2: Kovalum – Thiruvanthapuram – Flight to Goa
After breakfast, we will travel to the airport to board our flight to Goa. Upon arrival, we will transfer to our hotel for check-in. Afterward, we will visit the Sé Cathedral de Santa Catarina, the see of the Patriarch of the East Indies and one of the oldest Churches in the city. Se Cathedral is the most imposing of all the churches in Old Goa, its vaulted interior overwhelming visitors with its sheer grandeur. Se Cathedral is dedicated to St. Catherine, and was built to commemorate the victory of Afonso Albuquerque, which was won on the feast of St. Catherine of Alexandria. The day will end with a cruise on the Mandavi River with Goan Folk Dances. Afterward, we will return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 | Tuesday, February 3: Goa
After breakfast we will go on a tour of the old city of Goa. Once the capital of Portuguese colonial rule, Old Goa today is a serene locale dotted with majestic churches and imposing cathedrals. It has been granted World Heritage Status by UNESCO for its extraordinarily grandiose churches & convents. The tour will start with a visit to the Viceroys’ Arch (Arco dos Vice Reis), which was built in the memory of Vasco Da Gama in 1597 by his great-grand son Francisco da Gama after he became the viceroy. You will then proceed to Chapel of St. Catherine, considered to the oldest and first Chapel in old Goa. Your next stop will be St. Cajetan Church (Igreja De São Caetano) – which was originally dedicated to Our Lady of Divine Providence but is now dedicated to St. Cajetan, a contemporary of St. Francis Xavier and the founder of the Theatine Order. Next we will visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus and the nearby church of St. Francis of Assisi (Igreja de S. Francisco, Franciscanos). Herein you will visit the Archaeological Museum (Museu Dos Vice Reis e Governadores Portugueses), which is located at the back of the Convent and Church. Afterward, we will be driven to the Ruins of the St. Augustine Tower (Ruinas Da Igreja De Santo Agostinho), the only surviving tower of the four that were once a part of the Church of St. Augustine. It was once perhaps the biggest Church in Goa, but is now a crumbling ruin. In 1986, UNESCO declared the ruins to be a World Heritage Site. The next visit will be to the Convent of Santa Monica (Convento de Santa Mónica) It was a sanctuary not only for nuns, but also for widows willing to devote themselves to the service of God, and for the temporary protection of well-born ladies whose husbands had travelled to far off lands on military conquests or expeditions. We will also visit the Museum of Christian art. The final stop will be Our Lady of Rosary Church, revered for its connection to St. Francis Xavier, who often taught catechism here when it was first built. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
Day 10 | Wednesday, February 4: Goa - Flight to Jaipur
After breakfast, we will head to the airport for our flight to Jaipur. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, known as “The Pink City” and revered for its beauty. After we check in, we will enjoy a cultural performance by local artists and dinner. We will return to the hotel for overnight.
Day 11 | Thursday, February 5: Jaipur
After breakfast at our hotel, we will depart for an excursion tour to Amber Fort, stopping en route for photos at `Palace of Winds’, otherwise known as Hawa Mahal. In the afternoon, we will visit the City Palace, which is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doorways. The palace museum houses collections of rare manuscripts, armoury, costumes, carpets and miniature paintings. Finally, we will visit Jaipur’s Jantar Mantar, the most famous of its five ancient observatories. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 12 | Friday, February 6: Jaipur - Agra
After breakfast, we will check out and drive to Agra. Upon Arrival, we will check-in at our hotel.
Afterward, we will visit The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, followed by a visit to Mehtab Bagh to get a view of the Taj Mahal. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 13 | Saturday, February 7: Agra - Delhi
Today we will start with an early morning guided tour of the Taj Mahal, one of the wonders of the world! The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum commissioned in 1631 by the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the remains of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. We will then return to our hotel for breakfast. After Breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and drive to Delhi. Upon arrival, we will begin a panoramic tour of Delhi passing the gate of the Parliament of India, the Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar and stopping at Raj Ghat, the burial place of Mahatma Ghandi. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 14 | Sunday, February 8: Departure from Delhi
After breakfast, we will visit Sacred Heart Cathedral, one of the oldest church buildings in the city. We will then return to our hotel for lunch and rest. In the evening, we will pack before a leisurely farewell gala dinner together. After dinner, we will drive to the airport for departure. Arrival is on following day.
Day 15 | Monday, February 9: Arrival in USA
