Itinerary

Day 1: Depart for Rome

Make your way to your local airport, where you will board your overnight flight(s). Your meals will be served on board.

Day 2: Arrival in Naples - Sorrento

Welcome to Naples, also known as, “The City of Kings”. Upon arrival at Naples airport, collect your luggage in the baggage claim area, and continue to the Arrivals Hall, where you will be greeted by a tour escort and/or driver. You will make your way to the bus and transfer to your hotel in Sorrento with its stunning panoramic views of the Bay of Naples, its picturesque narrow streets, parks, villa, and orange, lemon and olive groves. Enjoy some time to relax before dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Sorrento - Amalfi Coast - Sorrento

Today you will tour the Amalfi Coast, widely considered one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world; deemed a UNESCO World Heritage site as an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape. You’ll follow the 34 miles of winding roads, making a quick stop to view the breathtaking panoramic view of Positano. Continue on through Praiano where you will drive by St. Gennaro Church, to Amalfi, one of the four maritime Republics of Italy, and view the beautiful Amalfi Cathedral consecrated to its patron, Saint Andrew. Some free time for lunch before your last stop on the Amalfi coast, Ravello. View its interesting Cathedral devoted to Saint Pantaleone, and the Villa Rufolo, a venue for many festivals throughout the year and magnificent gardens. View the Gulf of Salerno and its beautiful coastline. Enjoy the landscape on your return to Sorrento, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Sorrento - USA

After breakfast and heartfelt farewells, transfer to Naples airport for your return flights home.

Sanctuary of Saint Philomena:

The Sanctuary of Saint Philomena is an international Shrine located in Mugnano del Cardinale, Avelino, Italy. Here, the bones of St. Philomena enshrined in a Wax figure for Pilgrims to venerate, and the Basilica of Saint Philomena has become a very important Catholic Pilgrimage site. Saint Philomena was a Greek Princess who took a vow of consecrated virginity when she was 13. When Emperor Diocletian fell in love with her, she refused to marry him, and he thus set out to kill her, was Angels intervened, protecting her on multiple occasions. She was scourged, then cured; down with an anchor, but was set free; and shot with arrows, which returned to the shooters, killing them. Finally, on a Friday at 3:00pm in accordance with the death of Jesus, she was decapitated. Her remains were discovered in 1802 and moved to Mugnano del Cardinale two years later, where they remain to this day and have been attributed to several Miracles. She is often depicted with symbols of anchors and arrows. St. Philomena is the Patron Saint of infants, babies, and youth.
